Anemone coronaria 'Harmony Double White'

Anemone coronaria 'Harmony Double White' is a delightful addition to gardens across the UK, celebrated for its early spring blossoms and minimal care requirements. This perennial plant showcases a compact growth habit, adorned with striking double white flowers that feature soft, creamy centres, blooming from March to April. The finely dissected, mid-green foliage provides a lush backdrop that enhances the visual appeal of the vibrant blooms, making it a captivating choice for various garden designs, whether traditional or contemporary. This versatile tuberous perennial thrives in full sun, which promotes a profusion of flowers, and it prefers well-drained loamy or sandy soils. To optimize its growth, incorporating organic matter such as compost can significantly enhance soil fertility and drainage. While regular watering is crucial during the growing season, it is important to prevent waterlogging. Once established, the plant can endure moderate drought conditions. For optimal health and abundant flowering, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring is recommended. Additionally, deadheading spent blooms encourages further flowering, and cutting back the stems to ground level after blooming prepares the plant for its dormant phase. In spring, a layer of mulch around the base not only helps retain moisture and suppress weeds but also regulates soil temperature, while a thicker layer in winter protects the roots from frost. This resilient plant can withstand temperatures as low as -15°C to -10°C, making it suitable for most UK regions. In areas with harsher winters or excessive moisture, it may be prudent to lift the tubers after the foliage has died back and store them in a cool, dry place until it?s time to replant in spring. The 'Harmony Double White' is perfect for adding a burst of colour to spring borders and flower beds, making it an excellent choice for pots and containers, and bringing early-season charm to patios and balconies. Its compact size and stunning blooms also make it ideal for rockeries and alpine gardens, while the long-lasting flowers are perfect for creating beautiful floral arrangements.Height: 45cm (18in).
