Medium-sized, orange-red apples with thin skins are produced by the Cox's Orange Pippin apple variety. Although it isn't the most straightforward cultivar to grow, it thrives in the temperate UK climate. It also yields a healthy crop that can be harvested in September for immediate use and stored for a short time as well. This apple variety is distinguished from other types by its sharp, luscious texture and rich, fragrant taste, which make it the best-tasting dessert apple. Because 'Cox's Orange Pippin' is not self-fertile, it is ideally planted with another variety, like 'Braeburn' for the heaviest yields. Make sure your neighbour has a tree nearby that can serve as an appropriate pollinator if you only have space for one tree. The crowns of Cox's Orange Pippin apple trees can be easily trimmed, sprayed with fertiliser, and harvested since they are transplanted onto a dwarfing rootstock. We provide plants for root wrapping. Height and spread: 2.5m (8') Rootstock: M9. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 5 years. Note: Due to its excellent overall flavour and aroma, it is a preferred choice for purees, tarts, and Tarte Tatin. There are edible components in these blooms. Plant height and spread are seasonal. Therefore, we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
