Incredible golden foliage that transforms to warm shades of bronze, purple and orange in the autumn really makes this hardy shrub stand out as one of the greatest varieties. Berberis thunbergii ?Summer Sunset? is a slow-growing variety with a compact, round habit and is perfect for containers and smaller gardens where its vibrant foliage will brighten borders and patios. This Japanese Barberry is vigorous yet requires little maintenance. The yellow spring blooms are fairly unimposing but are nectar-rich so will be a magnet for pollinators and are followed by berries that can be enjoyed by birds.Height and spread: 40 - 60 cm (2 ft).
