Caryopteris × clandonensis 'Stephi' is a charming little shrub that truly enchants garden lovers with its lovely lavender-blue flowers and soft silvery-green leaves. This deciduous beauty shines particularly bright in late summer and early autumn, when it brings a burst of colour to sunny spots in the garden, making it a fantastic choice for anyone wanting to attract pollinators. The clusters of delicate lavender-blue blooms start to appear as summer winds down and continue to flourish into the early fall, creating a stunning visual spectacle just when many other plants are starting to lose their vibrancy.Beyond its visual charm, 'Stephi' is a haven for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects, enriching the garden's ecosystem with life and activity. The aromatic foliage not only enhances the plant's beauty but also fills the air with a delightful scent. Its compact, bushy growth makes it perfect for small borders, patio containers, or mixed plantings, allowing gardeners to make the most of their space while enjoying a lush display. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this hardy shrub is also drought-tolerant once established, making it a low-maintenance option. For those looking to keep it in shape and promote abundant blooms, a good pruning in the spring is advised.
