This impressive Delphinium ‘Double Highlander Mix’ is tall and statuesque without being unwieldy. Reaching up to 1m in height, the bushy plants carry multiple flower spikes and require limited support when in full flower.Allow these proud Highlanders to strut their stuff in the middle and back of herbaceous borders, adding dynamic vertical accents against the rounded masses of other perennials. The flowers of the Highlander series are striking for their densely doubled layers of petals and their colour combinations. Each pastel bloom bears a paler white, cream or lime green eye, creating striking colour contrasts. Flowering throughout June and July, Delphinium ‘Double Highlander Mix’ looks right at home in a cottage style border, or even a wilder meadowy patch. The flowers are famously fabulous for cutting and the dried petals can be used as confetti. Keep deadheading to encourage the production of flowering side shoots. Height: 1m (39in).
