Forget everything you know about coneflowers ? Echinacea purpurea 'Fringe Festival' takes flower power to another level! This highly distinctive perennial produces fully double, dome-shaped blooms packed with masses of narrow, frilled petals in hot orangey pink, creating an extraordinary shaggy texture. Unlike traditional echinaceas, the flowers have no prominent central cone, giving them a wonderfully unusual appearance that is sure to attract attention. Compact and stocky, it produces sturdy flowering stems above attractive foliage, making it ideal for sunny borders, mass planting and cut-flower displays. Flowering through summer and into autumn, it provides an extended season of vibrant colour and excellent garden interest. Its compact dimensions make it particularly useful towards the front of borders or in containers, where its remarkable flowers can be admired at close range. Ultimate height: 40cm (16in). Ultimate spread: 50cm (20in).
