Iris pseudacorus 'Alba' (Marginal Aquatic)

Iris pseudacorus 'Alba' presents a refined alternative to its more vibrant yellow counterpart, showcasing delicate creamy-white flowers adorned with purple-veined falls during the months of May and June. This native marginal plant thrives beautifully along pond edges and in moist soil conditions, demonstrating adaptability to both full sun and partial shade environments. Its striking, upright foliage, reminiscent of swords, not only contributes vertical interest to the landscape but also serves to elegantly define and frame the edges of ponds, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the garden.Unlike the more vigorous yellow variety, 'Alba' is less aggressive in its growth and self-seeding tendencies, making it an ideal choice for smaller ponds and wildlife gardens. This plant not only provides a valuable habitat for various creatures but also attracts a range of pollinators, enriching the biodiversity of the area. For optimal growth, it is recommended to plant this iris at a depth of 20 centimeters (8 inches) below the water level, ensuring it flourishes in its preferred environment while adding beauty and ecological value to your garden space.Height: 1m (3.2ft).
