Pear 'Concorde' is considered one of the best to grow in the UK, for its reliable, heavy cropping characteristics and suitability to the UK climate. Ideal for organic growing, the mellow, sweet taste is similar to older French varieties. Fruits produced are long, handsome and bear slightly russet skin for harvest in late September, keeping contently until November. Self-fertile meaning it saves space not needing a partner tree to pollinate. Pear and Quince rootstocks: Quince C - Dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 2.5-3m (8-10') Quince Eline - Dwarf reaching a mature height of 2.5-3m (8-10') Quince A - Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of up to 3m (10') to 4m (13') This variety is self-fertile and does not require a pollination partner. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 5 years.
