Physostegia virginiana 'Crown Of Snow'

The Obedient Plant, scientifically known as Physostegia virginiana, showcases charming, trumpet-shaped flowers that resemble tiny snapdragons, creating a delightful visual display on its upright flower spikes. This perennial is truly a gem in the garden, blooming profusely from July through September, which allows it to serve as a vibrant vertical element in informal borders. Not only does it enhance the aesthetic appeal of your garden, but it also plays a vital role in attracting beneficial pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Additionally, the abundance of blooms makes it an excellent choice for cut flower arrangements, ensuring that you can enjoy its beauty indoors for an extended period. One of the most fascinating characteristics of the Obedient Plant is the unique arrangement of its flowers, which are positioned in four distinct vertical tiers along the flower spike. Each individual bloom possesses the remarkable ability to turn and face the sun, a feature that adds to its charm. This adaptability is the reason behind its common name, as the flowers can be gently bent to the left or right and will remain in that position, almost as if they are responding to your commands. This intriguing behavior not only captivates gardeners but also adds an interactive element to the plant, making it a delightful addition to any garden space.Height: 75cm (30in). Spread: 40cm (16in).
